MTV Awards - The Good, the Bad and the Okay

Yes, we're in the final days of New York Fashion Week.
But this is Dishing on Fashion after all. And we'd be remiss without bringing you our takes on some of the red carpet and onstage looks seen Sunday night at the MTV Awards.

THE GOOD


Common.
I don't think I've ever seen him where he didn't have his look together.




Ashanti.
This is a look that's sexy and sassy and totally star quality, and, perhaps most importantly, it looks great on her.


Cassie.
This is just gorgeous with a capital 'G'.












THE SO-SO


Alicia Keys.
Her makeup is flawless and the dress isn't bad. But it's a bit too snug at the hips to appreciate the overall effect.


Tara Conner.
The former Miss USA isn't bad here. It's very "Viva Las Vegas" but a bit too much blonde/golden girl.


Ashlee Simpson.
Give her an A for the makeup and hair and a C for this dress that just kind of bland for the MTV Awards.


THE BAD


Beyonce.
How such a gorgeous girl continues to get it wrong is beyond me. If you've got hips, the last thing you want to do is swath yourself in miles of shiny, bright fabric. This is way too much dress on the bottom, and judging by the stories we heard about her almost falling out of her dress, not enough dress on top.
