Victoria's Secret Sugar Rush

Victoria's Secret Beauty Candy Store Event.

For a lot of women, makeup is indeed like candy. Buy a new lipstick and you get a rush. Admit it: you put on a new body spray and you feel better, don't you?
The clever folks at Victoria's Secret turned a retail space in Manhattan into a candy store for a couple of days earlier this week to introduce new products for fall and holiday.
Among the new products women can look for at a Victoria's Secret store:

- The Secret Garden line will be relaunched in August with new packaging.

- The Sexy Little Things line will introduce several new items for fall including Give Me A Wink false eyelashes (a huge make trend for fall, ladies), Please Dazzle Me glitter lash overcoat, and Give Me The Shimmers sparkling body powder.
We also loved the just launched body mist in this line. Make sure and pick up the bottle; it literally purrs at you. Loved that!

- The fruity Beauty Rush line includes lip glosses in 34 different shades and flavors. Trend followers take note: appletini is the most popular scent, according to Victoria's Secret execs.

BET Awards

The BET Awards were held last night in Los Angeles and there were plenty of red carpet winners, losers and not bad's.
Here's a look at some of the stars in all three categories. What do you think?

FASHION YES

Ciara.
This was the top look on the red carpet as far as I could see. The dress was sexy, looked great on her and was just enough without being too much.

And just look at the back view...A real fashion winner.
There were other backless dresses, but this one stole the show.

Diana Ross.
Call her Miss Ross or just call her Miss Fabulous. Miss Ross looked perfectly divalicious as she prepared to receive her Lifetime Achievement Award.

Nick Cannon.
You can never go wrong with a white dinner jacket. It's a timeless classic look that never goes out of style.

Big Boi.
Pay attention fellas. Dressing up is back.

FASHION MAYBE'S

Rihanna.
Without the ruffle at the bottom, this dress would have been a definite fashion winner.

T.I.
It's a good look but there's something about this look that's just a little off for this winner for Best Male Hip Hop Artist.

Lil Kim.
I have to admit I was shocked to see Kim fully clothed in a beautiful dress that was rather modest. Bravo for that fashion step in the right direction. But this dress made her look a bit dumpy.

FASHION NO'S

Beyonce.
I love Beyonce. Really, I do. But when it comes to designing (and I'm sure this is from her House of Dereon), there always seems to be too much going on. And truly, the full length sequinned/beaded look is a bit dated and heavy looking for summer. Congrats in any case to Beyonce for winning two awards including Best R&B Artist.

Jennifer Hudson.
Here's another lady I love, but this look is just not working for her. There's a fine line between fitted and too tight and she crossed it, unfortunately.Congrats for her two awards - Best Actress and Best New Artist.

Alicia Keys.
Um, this is the BET Awards not the Oscars. Why she chose such an overly mature look (and in such a flat color) is beyond me.

Vivica A. Fox.
I love Miss Vivica, but this dress has too much going on down the front when you look closely.

Daytime Emmy Awards - The Fabulous and the Flubilicious

Oh, how we love red carpet events like award shows.
When else do we get to gaze at the stars in all of their finery and serve up opinions on what they wore and, in some cases, what they should have left in the closet (or on their stylist's clothing rack).
Here's a look at some of the good - the fabulous, and the bad, or as we call them, the flubilicious.

First, the Fabulous.

Lisa Rinna.
Forget about the "are they real or fake" issue, this woman always manages to look gorgeous. Rinna has great taste (and/or a great stylist) and always seems to get it right.

(From left) Elisabeth Hasselback, Barbara Walters and Joy Behar of "The View." Three different generations, three different style sensibilities, three takes on how to work the style factor. And a big "bravo" to Elisabeth for daring to show her baby bump. Why not?

Deanna Russo shows there's nothing wrong with going for demure and pretty.

Now for the flubilicious.

I love Ellen DeGeneres but why she chose a get up that looks like a waiter's uniform is beyond me.

Rachael Ray looks beautifully radiant here, but something about this dress is just off - the masculine cut through the shoulders, perhaps? And a little bit of definition through the bodice would have helped this look tremendously, too.

Note to Tyra Banks: no more doing your friends favors by wearing their awful gowns. What was this? She pulls off the look because, well, she's Tyra and she knows how to work it. But ugh.
