Fashion Week Day 1
Fashion Week officially begins today.
But some of the fun actually began last night and of course we'll do our best to share all the happenings and dish with you.
Macy's in Herald Square got things off to a glamorous start with the official opening of its retrospective exhibit celebrating the work of designer Anna Sui.
The exhibit shows off 18 looks from each year of Sui's career.
Last night, during a reception, the designer, clad in a frock from her current fall collection, said looking at the collection brought back a lot of memories for her.

"It's emotional because, well, it's my life," Sui said during last night's reception.
Nicole Fischelis, vice president and fashion director for Macy's, said she deliberately selected Sui to be the first designer featured in what will be an ongoing series of fashion retrospectives being called Fashion Redux.
"We love Anna. She has an amazing integrity. She's about style. To me she's telling a story every time with her shows," said Fischelis, who points out that Macy's was the first department store to carry Sui's collection. "And I love that all of Anna's collections are inspired by the art world."
The Fashion Redux exhibit can be seen through Sept. 17 in the Impulse department on the second floor of the Macy's in Herald Square.
Here are some looks from the retrospective.

Spring '93
This flowered dress is from Sui's Grunge collection.

Spring '94
This frock, like many others, was modeled by supermodel Naomi Campbell.

Spring '95
Sui used clear sequin covered canvas camouflage in the style of Andy Warhol's camouflage paintings.

Spring '07
Sui said this dress was inspired by Dorothy Draper wallpaper and was done as an homage to her friend Sofia Coppola's film about Marie Antoinette.
